It’s a better song faster.” Brighton-based five-piece Shrag are already sweating like John Terry dragging a tabloid headstone through a sweltering desert, but this performance was a far more laboured. Despite their hastened pace, the finish line was far from in sight – and the hope of finding something ‘better’ even further. Instead, we are confronted with Los Campesinos!’s hoary counterparts: three ‘sleeper’ males forming the fleshy post-pop musical backbone, as two female vocalists scream, yelp and cat scrap discordantly over the dog-eared remains.
